It's a damn shame the military went with GM back in the 80's. Can you imagine if the HMMMV fleet was powered by 6.9/7.3 engines? The abundance and affordability of parts for a REAL engine would be amazing. Instead of the Optimizer 6500(cast by navistar btw), you'd be seeing a reinforced 7.3 IDI out there.
