I have my Dana 50 apart, I was thinking about a 5 gallon bucket of diesel to clean the hub and all the 4x4 inner workings before greasing and reassembly. What do you guys use?

Xylene is one of the best solvents, doenst evaporate as easily as acetone, removes any oil or grease.

Gas is so flammable, I worry about it, might rinse it with gas then soak in diesel. Where do you get xylene?

I just use gas and then blast it with some pb blast and then blast it with the air gun to blow all **** out of the bearing. Works great.
Just make sure you get all the gas or diesel out of the bearing before you pack in the new grease.
