ok, I just bought my '86 f250 for a screaming deal $300 with brand new tires. watched the guy hit it with ether to start. apparently his hired man started using ether quite some time back, and from what I can tell it's got no rings left in at least one hole.

so on to the subject, I've been reading glow plug threads on here for a couple weeks and have seen that there is only one that is recommended aka Beru. I also saw a post or two where a guy was trying the DRX00088, which are self limiting and wont burn themselves out from too long of a glow.

I got a set for quite cheap off of Egay and tested one with a tractor battery and an ammeter. I was impressed enough that I dropped them all in, she now fires right up with no spray. I decided that I will test them on a regular basis and post my results, my engine is toast anyway so I really have nothing to lose by trying something new.

on a side note all the old ones were ac-delco, all were burned out but none were swollen.
