well, today the new EBPS tube arrived, so i installed it reconnected everything, started the truck and began letting it warm up. plugged in the new Blue Driver bluetooth code scanner from Lemur and got an alert on the app stating "ford 7.3 diesels are not OBD2 compliant. Do not connect bluedriver to a ford 7.3 diesel." WTH! this truck is the whole reason i bought the stupid scanner! they didnt say anything about it not supporting the ford 7.3, its supposed to be for "all OBD2" vehicles and the 97 7.3's are OBD2... i dont understand...

anyhow fixin to go for a test drive.

took the truck to the dump for trash and its running a bit better still, but still down... might need to drive it more and give it a chance to learn? i looked for torque and didnt see an OBD app with that name, is there more to it?

The blue driver isn't compatible with torque? Or Android?
See if car gauge pro is available.
Torque will not do buzz/contribution.

sooo... i got a refund on the bluedriver, and bought a Vgate elm327 connector thats supposed to work with torque and car gauge pro... i wanted to do a buzz and cylinder cont. tests so i bought car gauge pro... no bueno! i could get my tablet and the phone to both pair to the connector, but the app wouldnt connect to it, so i tried numerous other apps AND loaded their windows software on my laptop, NOTHING will connect with this chinese connector... GRRRRRRR!!! i cant win! got a refund on the car gauge pro app and im fixing to throw the connector in the trash then take the truck to a shop.

silver lining: my 4" 45deg inlet pipe and napa filter arrived, so the busted up airbox is officially gone and were filterin some air well.

Do you have a chip installed?
If not, go to a dealer and have them see if the obd2 flash has been done.
1997 is supposed to already be compatible.
