Timing adapter missing

Yea, that funky adaptor is missing on my "new" 6.9L. You can tell pretty easy because the line is bent wierd to connect. It also looks cross threaded onto the injector.

Am I correct that having a shorter line causes that cylinder to have advanced timing relative to the other cylinders? The motor is making a nasty noise at higher speeds.

I guess I'll get a van injector line for that cylinder, I figure the replacement line is easier to source than the adapter.

OK, thanks guys.

The one line has definitely been hand bent, I'll just order a new one for a 6.9L P/U. I'm going to try retarding the timing a little to see if it cuts back on the engine racket. Of course it's also running mucho RPM's. I'm used to 3.73 gears and overdrive.
