Had a buddy ask about swapping 5.9 in place of v-10 in 94 3500 twd. Truck is a auto, will it work behind diesel. Is the crossmember diff. Truck is real nice, just ain't worth noin as a gasshog.

My recommendation is sell the one he's got and get the one he wants. You'll probably lose less trading up as you would trying to swap it. Besides, what's your time worth?

Unless I had a good 5.9 laying around, I wouldn't even consider it.

They both use the 47RH auto. It shouldn't be too much of an undertaking but the expense doesn't seem woth it to me. The V10 is a freakin' animal!!! I think I'd keep it as a novelty or trade or sell it for a Cummins powered Ram before I'd do a swap. Just my humble opinion.

He's probably going to sell the truck after I talked to him today. Think I'll list it for him on the for sale. Thanks

I agree... sell what ya got to get what ya want. You will have more headaches trying to convert the tach, and all that BS, along with wiring, and everything else as well!
