hey guys my break pedal feels like it should and my break booster and vacuum pump are both a little over a year old. Where do I go from here to figure out why my ac stays on defrost?
The ac compressor is shoot so it unplugged at the moment but I still like to use my vent on a nice day.

NO vacuum defaults to defrost. Look for lines disconnected or a bad vacuum pump.

Mine used to not work. Then it started working by itself. I think the pickup was sitting forever before i bought it

^^^^ Yeah, that's my understanding. Ours was broken for a while and it didn't affect the other HVAC ops. Leak has to be further "upstream", maybe right at the distro box / manifold where all the vac lines converge.

I know mine was rotted, and didn't affect vent selector.
But now I get colder air. Lol
