I'm going to install a starter button (sending 12v to the small post on the fender-mounted solenoid).
I grabbed 2 different buttons from the parts store.
The one that I want to use says 8A. The other says 15A.
Can I use the 8A one? If so, what size fuse should I put behind it?

I just did a quick Google search, everything I found says the amps draw should be around 1.5 - 3 amps. I would guess a 10 amp fuse should carry it, but still pop easily if a short occurs.

Keep in mind everything I just stated came from the Google machine so I cannot confirm any of the accuracy.

You’re triggering a relay it requires very little amp. Go as small as you want with the fuse. 10a is fine. Short to ground will pop it in no trouble if it occurs.

Thank you, gentlemen.
This is the flush mount button I'm going to use and mounting it under the dash just to the left of the 4WD lever. It should be pretty "stealthy" if I'm considering it a theft deterrent as much as a necessity (not that we have much theft around here). And it will be below my glow button, which is in the open space where that plug is hanging, so it will be convenient to where my hand already is after glow.
Dorman part # 84822 if anyone is needing one in the future.
