Pedro, there are few different ways of doing this - some people just tap into the factory wire and run a new wire from there to a grounded switch to force the converter to stay locked, while I completely severed the connection between the PCM and the TCC solenoid and extended both ends of the wires into the cab and now I have full control over the converter meaning I tell it when to lock and when to unlock while the PCM is fed a dummy signal that makes it think it still controls the converter and thus keeps it happy and out of limp mode. As far as time and cost are concerned, how long it takes really depends on how neat you want things done, I'd say a lazy afternoon sounds about right. Cost is generally very low, you're only using one switch and a few diodes and LEDs and maybe a relay if you wanna go with the three-position setup.
