Since the other thread got mucked up, I'm starting a new one to make it simple. If you haven't been to one before, we've moved away from hot dogs and hockey pucks(hamburgers) to ribs and rib steaks. In the spirit of our buddy "Jsnatch", the event's meat cost is fronted by me and donations are always greatfully accepted. I do request that attendees bring something to drink and a side dish. Ken(gandalf) brought an outstanding potatoe salad last time, it would be nice to have a little more variety. I will have paper plates and plastic utensils. So post up who's showing up and what you are intending on bringing other than an appetite and a truck to work on:backoff As always, I like Coors reg in a bottle for my drink;Sweet:D

As far as chefs are concerned, we currently have 328Mike, Wreckless Custon, TYP4, BrianS, Tanker Tom, bob_442, Gene Luo, Crashnzuk, 02autowag, Icanfixall, sparkandfire, gandalf, Dragrag, Ottoparts, 85f250dually and Me. Anybody else who would like to bring something to throw on the grill is more than welcome to help cook:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Oh yea, start time is roughly 11am for tinkering on the trucks. dunno what the ignition time for the girll will be. Since there is quite a few long distance drivers, we'll take a look at what side dishes show up and take a contribution from those who weren't able to bring something and go get more groceries.
Be a sweetheart and post up what you want to do on your truck. I will provide ankle irons and waist transport chains to make sure Gary doesn't go running away until all the trucks are timed.:sly:sly:sly

Post up guys and girls;Sweet

Since I will be attending sans wife, I will pick up some side dish from the store (wife makes damn good food, as you will see from my obvious girth, but she's not talking to me...):sly

Definately will bring some beverages...

As far as truck work, definately love to get timed. Hoping to take a look at gary's disfunctional meter and do some 'learnin.

Aside from that, looking forward to meeting the west coast brethren. ;Sweet

I'll be there, baring the unforeseen. My wife has volunteered to make one of her good potato salads, though she probably will not attend the gtg herself.

Gary's timing clinic sounds like a winner. I'll bring my truck to have that checked. As far as I can tell, the timing is good, but I've never actually had it checked. I'll jump at the chance to learn how to do this.

Calvin, my wife thanks you for the compliment. She always appreciates good words like that.;Sweet

BTW...She read your post, looked at your avatar, and said, "Is that Calvin? If that's Calvin you're not going up there again, unescorted."

Looks like I'll be able to make it. I can bring some home-made chocolate chip cookies;Sweet I can also bring the Sun timing meter with me and give it a try. My dad is coming down on Sunday, I'll see if he wants to come a day early so we can bring his truck. I think you all would like his truck. If not, I'll roll down in the Dodge. I'm in for Tuna Russ, I'm only into fish if someone who knows what they're doing cooks it for me:sly

I will tentatively be there. I need to make sure I've got the time off work before I can say 100%; won't get that before Wednesday...still up in Hippieville helping my mom move cookoo

I'll be sure to bring some fuel for Calvin LOL and, time permitting, I'll bring some brownies...if I don't have time to bake them, I'll figure something else out (don't know what yet, but probably some sort of basic dessert item).

I don't have anything I need to do on my truck that can be done in a day :rotflmao although if you by chance have the other truck up there, maybe I can start on some prep work :sly (although that's not high-priority yet)...and, if nothing else, I can provide an extra set of hands for anyone who's doing work ;Sweet

Okay, back to work for me...have to be up at 0730 tomorrow :(

I'm in. I'd like to get my green truck timed, and the pump turned up a hair or two. I said I would bring my new toy, the 86' so I will have a second driver maybe to bring that one. I can tempt him with beer and food.

where to stay....

for the out-of-towners, I have two suggestions for accomodations.
the first is "Days Inn Santa Clara" http://www.daysinnsantaclara.com/
the second is "Holiday Inn Express Santa Clara" http://www.santaclarahie.com/
you will find cheaper a little distance away, but be warned, all of them are transient hotels. with the amount of forclosures in the area, they are quite busy and so in the theft problems. these two cater to mainly the people visiting Santa Clara University, so the prices are up there, but on the upside you won't have to worry about your **** getting broken into.

Now for the "Jsnatch" disclaimer....I am in no way affiliated with either location I recommended, I am not making a percentage due to your patronage nor am I acting as an agent for the above. :D;Sweet
