ive been dreading this filter set up i put together, thinking its gonna leak out of where i deleted the fuel heater.
there wasnt much meat on the cast aluminum.

looking for a replacement to put on the shelf, incase im right, i ran across this....
i havnt seen anyone use this type.

its got a built in primer and is a direct fit for the one i have now...

just not sure about the 30 micron rating.

but, if mine leaks, were going to find out!

What did you use to block off heater plate? I tapped in a freeze plug w/ red locktite and it hasn't leaked.....

That's the exact same setup I have
Soon to be installed. The cat steer has the same style works flawlessly.

I Despise that Teflon tape in any liquid system where down stream there is any kind of a pump (like an IP) or solenoid. Teflon tape is NOT a sealer, it's only a thread lubricator, Teflon Paste is a Sealer and thread lube.

The reason is: If ever the taped fitting is taken removed, there is shards of tape left in the threads, when you screw the next fitting IN it's possible to push some tape shards into the system if the threads are not thoroughly cleaned of the shards. Those shards can become stuck on any moving part and make it inoperative, like in an injector or IP. Even if tape is used, the first three threads should be free of the tape.

Any how that filter looks to be like it will do the job. On large diesel engines that would be the primary filter with a secondary filter of smaller micron filtering.

That's a good deal. That's the exact type the Military FMTV and LTAS uses with c7 cats. It's their primary filter and it's only about 3" tall. I think strikers too, but I don't work on them to know for sure.

OMG

Are you completely out of your mind?

TEFLON TAPE *** are you thinking...especially on a fuel system?

ONLY utilize lquid thread sealant on pipe thread fittings for oil and fuel systems.....

that **** is garbage it tears and dislodges and gets into places cauzing all kinds of havoc...imagine some of that schmeg making its way into your nice new IP.

That permatex hi temp thread sealant works awesome. Use it all the time & never had a leak. Can pick it up at any auto parts stores. Could always try that if it does start to leak. A lot cheaper than the racer filter.
