quiet exhaust?

hey ya'll, I have an 87 6.9 and want to quiet the exhaust down.....a lot. I'm not a fan of loud trucks any more, but I do realize that there is only so much you can do with a motor with something like 20:1 compression ratio.

has anyone had luck finding a muffler/exhaust that doesnt resonate and quiets the beast?

A big RV muffler should do the job...

The stock muffler worked pretty good. Whatever you choose to do, if you can't see through it, your likely to increase backpresure and EGT's.

Stock is about as quiet and you can get. If you can see through it, im pretty sure its not going to be doing a whole lot of quieting it down.

run 2 cherry bombs or blue bottles put the first one in the right way and the back one on backwards makes a BIG difference without effecting EGT's or back pressure significantly

I'm probably going to dump the exhaust before the rear tire out the side of the bed with the stocker for the moment then.

Papabear, I know what a cherry bomb is, but what is a 'blue bottle'?
