Good point. I don't remember that far back, but I did not make 15X less that today. It was no big deal to buy it.

Me too. Bought a new 72 F-250, 360, 4-spd, XLT black interior, Carpet , Camper Window, Power Disk Front Brakes, (option back then) Posi rear, Cab and chassis, AM/FM Radio. $4600 cash, from AL Chaney Ford in Santa Cruz, Oct 71.
Added H o o k e r headers and Glass Packs, Built steel frame Flat bed with wood deck. think had $5800 in it. It was kind of a Root Beer brown color.

I have only bought 3 new vehicles, 69 VW, 72 F-250 and the 82 Datsun 720 KC.
Worse one I bought, was a 64 TR4A, with a Fiat engine...hey I needed something cheap to drive, and had my head up in a dark area...
