Okay I'm back finally. I've been working like a mad man and hadn't gotten any mail from the site so I hadn't checked it lately. I got my PM feature and email feature turned back on now too. I'm not sure how they got turned off. Later folks I'm heading to dinner.

Well folks wish me luck. I head out tomorrow morning at 5am to pick the axle up and we'll see what happens. I'm bringing my laptop with me for GPS so I should be able to update when I get the axle picked up and am on my way south again.

Well Brimmstone won the auction for the axle and is currently enroute to pick it up. He will be on the road pretty much all day. I spoke with him last night about it so that's why I know what's up. He was still trying to determine if Michael wanted it and if so he was going to drop it off to me so I could haul it to Virginia when I go back. I am sure I will hear from him today and will give ya'll an update at that time.

I am not privy to where the ebay issue stands.

Michael, back to your question of the BOOB express, I've witnessed some great high milage exchanges in recent days. Consider these examples.....

I sent Diesel Dog Catcher a rear axle (heavy sombit!) Went from PA to MI in I think 3 hops. A C6 went along with that one to another recipient, but I'm not sure how many hops additional.

Doug Benson got a generator or something from Ohio. I think that was 3 hops.

PAFixIt got a car from South Carolina to PA (MD-PA line really). 1 hop I believe.

I got an exchange axle back from MI. 1 or 2 hops I forget.

There's been many more I wasn't a party to. It's not fast, but it is free and efficient! :hail

I'm one of the BOOB Express "transportation specialist":D. I moved the Mercedes for PAfixit. Michael PM'd me this morning asking if I would still be able to bring the axle up from Lynchburg so I guess it's safe to assume Brimmstone got it. I know we're grown men here, but hopefully Brimmstone slapped this ***** around some while he was there. It's wrong & illegal but beating the hell out of someone that deserves it used to make me feel much better about things.

apex,
I've been trying to get an engine shipped from Illinois to Nebraska. I have one member willing to pick it up from the other member, but noone in between.

I'm pretty much exclusively eastern seaboard from Delaware south. I rarely get out past ohio. Most of my carhauler buddies are running south w/snowbirds too. I'll keep it in mind though.

An update on the axle sitch. I'm going up Saturday morning to pick it up. If it was just me driving up I would be tempted to smack the taste out of his mouth after picking it up but the police tend to look down on that type of thing. I also have to worry about my fiance yelling at me for doing it. I'll pop on and let you know when I do the switch over to Dirtleg. Then we get to watch the fun when eBay goes after this clown.

Holy crap. I just finished reading most of the 73 pages of the Charlie Wenzel saga. That was freakin' AWESOME. That poor ******* is screwed for LIFE. All over 15 bucks. Moron. His under age (actually she's legal now) girlfriend is WAY hot  but what's with the finger?

It would be great to add this shmuck to charlie's hall of shame!!!

I'm heading out to pick it up within the hour. As I'm sure you can see from my thread in the main section of the forum the big mule is giving me headaches right now.

Dirtleg can you give me a call. I lost your number somehow.

Well the axle is in the back of my truck. I met up with Brimmstone (Chris) and we moved it from his truck to mine. Good thing he's a strong SOB as that thing is heavy. I'd be laid up injured if I'd had to move it myself.

It appears to be in good shape. Chris had checked the oil in it so theres a little on the diff housing but it's not from leaking. The whole thing appears dry at all the seal areas and hasn't been cleaned off to mask any potential issues.

It was nice to meet another board member. It's also nice to see the BOOB express at work and be a part of the chain. Man am I looking forward to getting this thing back to Virginia. For multiple reasons.

Chris it was a pleasure meeting you. Hope we can run into each other again sometime.
