Oil pan needs replaced

Because of my oil leak ive been constantly checking my oil. Whats the best way to check it after ive been driving and I let it cool for about ten minutes? Or when its cold? Ill be having to check it constantly until get it in the shop.

Seems the salt belt areas have an oil pan rot issue. So why is there not some tar like coating that you guys can apply to ward off the rust. Maybe something like rino liner. Seems painting it each oil change with anything to stop the rust is going to save the pans... I'm just not understanding why this happens.

I'm not a huge bed liner fan. My experience with my utility bed led me to some conclusions about that stuff.

IF it does bond well to the steel, there is no way to remove it short of burning it off with acetyline.

If it does NOT bond well, water and salt build up behind the liner and eat away until nothing is left.

I had 1/8 inch steel on my bed with the undercoating still atached that I could poke a screwdriver through.
