My '82 has a J-code 6.2, TH400 and 4.10 gears and has never seemed gutless. The 454 in the CC is quicker, but 10ish MPG keeps it parked! :D
Isn't the J-code the military model - more of a heavy duty engine with an extra 25 hp and ~ 40 lb-ft of TQ? That could be enough of a difference in a heavy Blazer to go from incredibly slow to reasonable. If we are comparing it to a well worn C-model, we aren't really talking anywhere near the same engine.

did this swap start? how's it going? After driving my 6.2 3/4 4x4 I would love to swap the drivetrain(or similiar) into my scrambler or CJ10a. $$$ and time/space will keep that from happening for a long time, but it would be a nice rig if I ever do it.

I'm new to the board but in the Sept. issue of Diesel Power there was a letter in the front with a guy who dropped a 6.0 PowerStroke and torqshift trans into a CJ-7
