i just bought a couple used pumps from a local guy and want to store them for a while until i need them. i have heard it is best to drain the fuel out first - does anyone know which fitting is the drain plug on the pump? i would rather do that then remove the top cover just to be sure i don't put it back on wrong and blow the engine!
Does anyone know how long one of these pumps could sit on the shelf and still work when needed next?
thanks,
paul

I don't think we have "drain plugs" on these pumps but. The small plate on the passenger side that looks like home plate will drain all the internals. How much is left behind only Mel can answer. The shelf life really depends on how much life has been run out of it. I think a newly rebuilt pump will easily last 3 years in a dry inviroument. Again Mel is the one to ask on that question too.
