Fill fuel tank run it like ya stole it....or fix at home....or tow...thos be yer options.

Tightening the injectors wont do ***** as the copper washers are work harde ed from two things...1st being crushed 2nd heat cool cycles of engine. You really likely cannot seal them anymore without full replacement.

Ebay sells a multi cutter deburr tool for the injector seats around 45 bucks. I have one...dont knkw if any good or not..hope so.

Do not deburr if no nicks or damage present...bore brushes are adequate to clean bores. If u dont know google them or search.

You ha e 3 options....make a choice...

We cant make it for you.

Just sayin

I think I'm just going to drive it there the way it is. What I've hypothesized has happened is that injectors 2 and 4 were coming loose from the nozzle half and the seat/washer/nozzle part of the body was carbon sealed, like a blood clot. When I tried to tighten them back down I disturbed that carbon causing the blowby.

I hope that I don't need to take any material off the seats. I was looking at one of this same kits in ebay if I need to. I'm hoping to just get a wire brush and clean it up.

So does anyone know the correct diameter of the injector bore? My calipers haven't shown back up since we moved here...

You can separate engine and body work. It is an option to fix at home and do body work later in the larger more climate controlled building. Anyhow, as Riot said you got three choices, make a decision.

As for Canadians... I don't know how they manage the cold. Last time I was in Canada in winter I brought warm weather with me and left as a blizzard was about to hit. After the treatment the Canadians gave me and the truck upon entry, they must have had me figured for some kind of kingpin. The border cops were not amused when I said I thought people smuggled drugs across the border the other way, free love and all that. They failed to catch my newly installed and falling off rear fuel tank, fortunately, though it was hiding nothing but an EPA superfund site or Canadian equivalent in the making. Did a quick fix on that at a casino in some middle of nowhere border town. I also learned the wee little metric speedometer is hard to read particularly on the fat part of the needle. Later as an ignorant American, I apparently said something I shouldn't have at a pub regarding a hockey game. Things didn't improve when I expressed my shock that nobody knew what an IPA was and yet they had more types of Molson than I knew existed. Started quite the ruckus, so I figured I better leave before it escalated as clearly they take hockey and Molson seriously. Think they might have called the mounties on me as a redcoat was chasing me as a stumbled back to the hotel. Not sure if I broke any laws but I lost him, and made it safely across the border. Oh Canada...

Temps are suppose to be below 10* next week. No way I'll be able to do mechanical work outside (my garage isn't much different from outside). Loading all the body and mechincal parts up tomorrow, driving the truck there monday. First order of business will be to get the bumper off, cooling system drained and clip removed. Then, depending on outside temps/how warm I can get it, I'll either start body work or mechanical work. Planning on installing a thermocouple for a pyrometer while the clip is off. Also mechanical coolant temp and oil pressure gauges. Going to replace the FSV, injectors, injection lines and remove/block off the lift pump. Have the Faucet Duralift to install.

So....does anyone know correct diameter for the injectors? I need to find a wire brush that will fit the bore...

I need to find a wire brush that will fit the bore...

Here is the brush you need - works great to clean the injector bores.

Of course, a 10 gauge or 12 gauge twisted wire shotgun bore brush will also work. Get the kind with the "loops" of wire and not the kind with the individual wire strands.

Here is one on Ebay too

And another possibility

13/16"? I could use a shotgun brush, but I'm not sure that'll cut through it. I do have a nylon 12ga brush...

I was thinking of getting one that fits in a drill chuck. It's pretty bad in there.

Any adverse effects from letting that carbon fall into the precups?

Got it to the garage. Just before I got there, I had to follow a slow driver up a small hill and noticed lots of thick wrote smoke even after I was level again. Had a little blue on the entire trip. Hoping it didn't cause any other damage.
