DeepRoots, my thoughts exactly - even if he was to keep the pistons, new connecting rods would be needed.

I didn't put the smilie eating popcorn but I was watching the whole thing. At the end I thought: "Time to go back to my truck". I left it parked between those trees for weeks, hydrolocked. Maybe if I pull it with my tractor with the reverse engaged it will move the engine. I burned the starter trying before. I got so tired and frustrated that I left it for a while. I also had other stuff to take care of (when you own a farm there's always something waiting for you to do). Your odyssey had a happy ending.
I'm praying mine will have a happy ending too.
It was good to read your message when you found it was a clogged filter. It happened to me also this past weekend with my van; a clogged filter and an air leak after that. The support of this group help me a lot.
It was good to see you were not angry when some advice was mingled with some discipline (sometimes we need the discipline more than the good advice). I was able to sense your joy in what you wrote.
