Just replaced my injector pump. I can get it to start with a shot of starting fluid runs but after you shut it off 30 sec. Later will not start again without starting fluid. When it's running has no power at all. But it idles just fine. Need help. The truck is a 94 7.3 idi factory turbo.

glow plugs/glow plug controller/glow plug harness.
anytime it runs off crack, but wont light off on its own is usually glow plug related.

I just replaced them and the controller. They are working fine has ran good all winter without having to plug it in. My pump shafts broke Sunday and I just put the new pump in. Will not start on its own. I got it running with starting fluid got it all the way up to temp shut it off 30 sec later will not start on its own.

This one isn't GP related.
Sounds like timing could be way off.
But where did you get the ip from?

Auto zone I have thought it maybe a bad pump. Even if the timing was off would it try to fire or have some white smoke coming out the pipe when it is turned over ?

Yeah, should have smoke.
The pump could very well be the problem.
When you replaced it, did you pull the whole timing cover?

Ya that is another one of my rookie mistakes. But I did mark the gear and gear housing so that when I put it back it was in the exact same spot as it was when I removed it. If it gets one to thaw would it make that big of a difference that it wouldn't start?

all depends.
ive done it this way, and i ended up being 2 teeth off, lading me at -9 degrees.
it still fired and ran fine.
didnt have an issue with starting.
now if you advanced it 2 teeth, it could be the issue.

i would be pulling the timing gear cover and making sure you got the marks lined up.

with the IP still bolted to the housing and gear, run 2 5/16" bolts to "clamp" the gear through the IP bolt cover.
pull cover off without rotating the engine
(may want to pull the balancer first)
place IP gear cover back on and check marks.

if the marks line up,
take that craptastic vatozone stuff back and get another.
dont re-install cover without the new pump so you can to the same as above and get it correct every time.

there is a cover on the IP gear housing.
remove this cover.
WITH THE IP INSTALLED to the gear housing,
get 2 longer 5/16" bolts and put them in the 2 bolts you just took off.
run them down on to the IP gear itself.
do not overtighten.
it will lock the gear in place and will not move.

then you can pull the IP gear housing, IP, and gear in 1 shot, and it will stay aligned.

theres no way to make sure the marks are aligned without pulling the front cover off.
i tried a bore scope, and a pick to try, and it didnt work for me.
and yes you will have to remove the waterpump and all accessories.
