I have a chance to get a 94 idi turbo with good motor, trans, and frame but the body is not that great and I love the look of the 70's model F250's. Do you guys think it would be hard the swap the 70's body onto the 94 frame? The 94 is $1100 and the 76 high boy is $600 im thinking for that price I could make it work:D:D:D

where did you find a classic highboy for $600. I just sold my 79 F250 2wd (efi 460, E4OD) for $3500 a few months ago.

Craigslist, no motor or tranny and the interior is rough but the body is good, strait and near dent free but the pain is trashed. Its basicly just the body and axles

I researched this a little bit when I first started putting my truck together. I was looking at finding a 70's crew cab body and long bed to throw on my CCLB chassis; but the crew cabs are rare, and therefore worth their weight in gold.
The wheelbases are the same, but that is about where it ends. The bed would be easy, just a matter of drilling new holes in the bed. 70's frames are narrower.
I found a couple guys over on www.oldfordcrewcabs.com/ that have put the old bodys on Super Duty frames, and lots of talk about using a 80-96 chassis.

Here's a link to a guy putting a 79 crew cab body on a 96 F-Superduty frame with PSD/ZF5. Looks like his main issue was firewall clearance.
