My experience is brass seals against casts/ metal etc very well. Much like brass fittings in the side of oil coolers/ injection pump housing etc. I wouldn't imagine if a brass fitting tightened down, will allow enough air to escape to mess with the test results dramatically, unless maybe you're doing a leak down at some point. Just my thought, though.

That's the point tho, we already have an adapter that will work with the comp tester (after said tester gets the new 1-way valve and the adapter gets its valve core gutted), the problem would appear if we try to fashion some sort of straight-thread fitting for the low-pressure leakdown test. Hence the attempt to make the comp test adapter work with the leakdown tester as well.
