A little background,

92 7.3 with 148K and counting.

Has about 7k on new pump and injectors. Supposedly timed correctly, but cant check anymore as the timing piece off the pulley "fell" off i guess!

Just got back from a trip and had a problem with hot starts, especially when its super hot outside! I know the common response is going to be the pump going bad, anything else??

Either I let it sit for a while, till my temp gauge is under 160, and it starts just fine, or I poor water on pump and it starts right up. No smoke. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to get annoying!!!

Noticed on grades and on WOT that there is no black smoke. Problem?

Minor leak from under pump, all return lines are dry.

Any suggestions, concerns, reccomendations, or other things to check???

You answered your own question. It IS the IP. There is no doubt. Sounds like one of those economy rebuilds to me. ;Really
