Half Breed needs some help

I have a first gen that I put a 96 cummins engine in. i had to swap out bell housing, drain pan and oil pick up to get it to fit in. I am now having custom intercooler pipes made and just realized i have a new issue. The turbo air intake is a lot larger on the 96 engine than the old 89 engine. the intake rubber pipe that hooked up to my air filter is no longer usable. i did get the air-box with the engine for the 96. but i think that air-box mounts towards the firewall on the 96 dodge. i need to come up with a creative way to fab up an air cleaner for my new Half breed dodge.
Any ideas?
is there a simple cold air intake for the 96 that is just a hose and a filter? on that i could run forward towards the grill and into the fender like the stock on on an 89 dodge?

Most of us 2nd gen guys toss the stock air box away and put in what has been dubbed a BHAF (Big Honking Air Filter). It will fit right into the intake hose and you can reuse the hose clamp to tighten it down to the hard rubber neck of the filter.

that is cool.. that is the same air filter i had on the 89 engine. so i would use the flex hose that goes to the 96 box and then just plum it to the same spot. simple, jsut the way i like it

I did a custom job on mine.was easy

go with the BHAF and dont look back dude ......I ran the AFE pro gaurd7 and have since gone back to the NAPA 2790

My solution
I cut up both the 89 intake tube and the 96 and used a flange from an exhaust shop to connect the two. then used the air-filter you recommended and the filter change indicator form the 96 air-box to franken it
