I have new flywheel bolts that came with a new flywheel that I am installing. They all have about 1/2'' of thread sealant on them from the factory. Is that enough? and do I also want to use some blue loctite on there?
I also don't recall seeing in my Haynes Diesel Techbook what the flywheel bolt torque values are (I may have just missed it); but does anyone know off hand what the values are?

Doing my ZF swap tomorrow;Sweet.

I went ahead and used the blue loctite on mine as well. That is all I used other than the stuff that's already on the bolts and it seems to have worked well so far.

I am pretty sure the torque value is 47 ft/lb.

The above posting is correct ob both parts. 47 lbs and blue loctite on the threads. Those drilled and threaded holes in the end of the crank goes thru to the oily side of the engine. If a thread sealant isn't used there will be an oil leak.

Ihc has been drilling those holes all the way through for decades! Plenty of oil leaking from there on the scout boards.
