I was talking about the front driveshaft for a 4x4, with a 2wd trans, a brownie, and then a divorced case, thats a long distance to cover with a single shaft that is expected to articulate up and down side to side with front axle.

If you mounted the brownie forward, I don't see a problem. I've seen some trucks with factory divorced transfer cases where the TC is mounted pretty far back. Having a longer shaft to the front axle just lowers the working angle of the ujoint and should actually make the thing perform better and last longer. It's the short shafts with the higher angles that give the most problems. If you had to you could always run a 2 piece shaft with a center support as well
