Some time back a member posted that some 3/8 tubing incerted into the door weatherstrip will stop the air and road noise so... I went to home depot and found some clear 1/4 inch tubing in 10 ft lengths for $1.89 a roll. The thought was that the 3/8 was just a bit too big so I figured I'd try 1/4 inch. If it works I'll post back with the results. I'm not sure if they offer 5/16 or not. Anyway for the price I couldn't go wrong...

Use plenty of dish soap and water to lube the inside of the weather stripping's hole. I pour some in then use a garden hose. Also have another person stretch the other end as you feed it through.

Are you taking the weatherstrip off the door opening to insert it, or just pushing it through while its still attached to the body?

My Excursion had that done by the previous owner. You had to slam the door to get it to shut. I don't care for that, so I took em' out. I saw no difference in the sealing quality. :dunno
