Coolant Filter

Why is a coolant filter always installed as a bypass filter? It can't handle the full flow to the heater core or if it plugs up the flow to the heater core would stop?:dunno

Yes, they are designed as bypass filters, and yes, it would significantly resrict flow to the heater core.

Thanks Heath.
Waiting for the filter head to get here. Already have my Ranger vacuum operated shut off for the heater core. When I have it all I'll get a cold beer and stare into the engine compartment and decide how it's all going in.:eek:
