I heard on the radio that the Acert's "sweet spot" for pulling is about 1325 RPM.

Are all semi's that low?

yep.... 1200-1600 rpm is generally the sweet spot for most truck diesels. Not only for max torque... but for top gear engine speed as well.

Havent seen anybody go below 1200 though..... anything lower and you get into the lugging zone.

According to Cat, the C-15 ACERT is supposed to be at peak around 1200.

One of our rigs just came out of the shop. Changed from 3.70's, to 3.36's, on tall 24.5's. We'll see how it works out, in the next few weeks.

Mine doesn't pull very well that low down. It seems to be strongest around 1600-1700. At least that's where my turbos really start singing.

Lawdy that seems low. :) Must be a thrill to drive.

Unfortunately, my wife won't let me. :)
