Its been so long sence I have thought about this, but what year bronco tank had the same diameter sending unit hole as a 92 F250 IDI? its the 3 1/4 isnt it? Im kind of immobile from an accident so I cant exactly go measure my old tank opening right now. Thanks in advance!

Also, whats the PSI rating from an intank Fuel pump from the bronco anyway? I already have an electric napa unit, but if its easier, I'll just remove it.

I can't speak for the 92, but the 87 Bronco has the same size hole as the 83-86 F series, and I would guess 87 to 91 F series as well. The in tank fuel pump produces a negligable amount of presure. I have one feeding a Holley Red with no issues.

A fuel injected bronco tank w pump will put out 40 ish psi. Way too much for the diesel IP. I soldered a tube to mine after removing the pump, added some plastic airbrake tubing to hit the very bottom and it works wonderful. Was out of an 89 sending unit works fine and I can put 33 gallons in it.;Sweet
Found a couple pics

On my Bronco, that 40PSI came from a frame mounted pump, that was replaced with the Holley Red. That's all I changed. Fuel pressure is 6 to 8 PSI. I don't know what the tank pump puts out, but it's about the size of a fish tank aquarium motor, and is incapable of that kind of presure, at least on this Bronco.

ford in there infinite wisdom used a few different set ups on the gassers as far as fuel pumps.
some had a low pressure pump in each tank and a high pressure on the frame.
and some had high pressure in the tanks. and no frame pump.

I think the later is how they like to do it these days. I know the Windstar was that way.
