This is correct. They are the same cam. International didn't balance the gear with the puller drilled holes. Later they found a vibration at idle that was remic. Many have felt it but had no idea how to stop it but increase idle rpm. The newer balanced gear fixed that and to remove it you just turn the puller jaws out and grip the gear thru the slots. Might want to heat up the gear so it pulls off easier too. Then heat it up to no more than 250 degrees to press it on another cam. Or simply just use the cam and gear that the newer style. BTW the cam and the injection pump gear have the same number of teeth in them and the crank gear has half as many teeth in it.
