Why would you have to do that? Is your truck a stick now?


The truck is currently a 5-speed; so, doing it like I described would have a total of THREE sticks in the floor, the one that's already there, and the two to operate the auxilliary.

Does that make any more sense ??:confused:

What he's saying is that in the absense of a proper shifter, he could just rig each rod to it's own lever mounted to a pivot and then be able to just push pull each rod seperately. Only problem with that setup is as he mentioned , you have to make darn sure that one of them is in neutral before putting the other into gear.

The more I think about it though I think it's pretty hard to stuff it into two at once, because the factory shifter is setup in a way where it could almost stuff two rods at once if it were possible. I need to take a closer look at that thing.

That factory shifter mechinism would not be a hard item to fabricate if someone had the equipment. I could take some close up shots if needed. Honestly with some patience a drill press and a grinder and a dremmel you could probably pull it off.
