Pretty sure that's what he's talking about, just poor way of describing it.
Aka "slide pin."

Not usually. You have to buy a separate harware kit to get them.
Well I'll take a pic of my brakes tommarow, i dont have this hardware on my brakes and it wasn't there when I changed them out. Could be the problem, what is the function of the hardware?.

Do you always just assume?
About the only thing you'll get in the box are anti rattle clips and the little wear squealers.
These are the other style pin.

You're damn right it could be the problem. It holds the caliper in to keep it from grinding into the wheel.

I have the pins good there, think I'm going to run the truck a bit to see if anything settles down. Maybe try different pads.

make sure you bleed the brakes so there arent any air pockets. how were the slide pins? if there any rust or deposit build up it will not allow the pads to come away from the rotor, those need brake only grease with sealed rubber boots. also make sure when the pads went in they go in smooth, sometimes new pads have extra paint and slag from the factory casting witch will bind up so they dont move smoothly. keep us updated

Weren't these only on the half tons? My 81 F150 and my 86 Bronco both had this style, my two F250's didn't.

You replaced the rotors, are you sure you don’t have a bad wheel bearing making noise or maybe too much preload?
