I can't say anything about IDI headgaskets, but I will attest to Cometic's overall quality. I have used Cometic gaskets many times and I've got to say their products are outstanding, typically both problem solving and/or better than OEM.

One of my customers is using a Cometic gasket on his twin turbo cummins after we blew the last head gasket running over 80 psi through it. I will say I'm impressed with the Cometic gasket. It survived another shop monkeying with the wastegate and getting the boost so high it split a 100 psi boot and also blew the water injection tubes out of the intake neck. Of course knowing my luck now that I've written this he'll call me tomorrow saying he blew it up again.
