are you guys running plastic or steel idlers??

replaced my tensioner and idler pulley today and the damn thing is slipping all over now, cant even drive it, one is plastic and another is steel, I got one and had to bring it back because it was way to big

I originally had plastic, I just found its slipping on the steel one, going to take it back and stick with what I know best

Put a steel one on mine because that's all the parts store had, haven't had a problem with it. Actually the tensioner and idler pullies are both steel.

hmm I wonder why mine is acting funny, my serpentine belt is only week old

odd since I cannot find a plastic tensioner pulley on autozones or Advance's websites

The Serpentine system had a recall/TSB (I can't remember which) on the tensioner assembly, might be worth looking into, the main issue was that it would spit the belt at the drop of a hat.
