Alum fill plug on tcase....really?

To the a$#$^#%%$ at BW who that an aluminum fill plug, in an aluminum tcase was a good idea....I hope some one pees in your coffee daily....-cuss-cuss-cuss-cuss

LOL. Yup, threads all gauled up?

I would be installing a steel pipe plug next time if I had to do a teardown to get the plug out.

What ever happened to the days of cast iron.....REAL metal!

It's seized in there and stripped out. The JB weld trick didn't work, vice grips aren't working...heat didn't work, PB blaster didn't work....me thinks it's time for the drill. I have brass plug ready for it.

I had to drill mine completely out and chase the threads out with a tap after a shop rebuilt it before I bought the truck. What really sucks is when I put it back together I discovered they had run it in so far it cracked the housing. Time for the tig welder to make an appearance.
