Anyone have an Airdog pump on thier 6.9 of 7.3 IDI?

I am ready to dump my trusty blue pump due to occasional
power surges from air in the line.

This happens maybe once or twice a day for a few seconds
but I dont want no part of air in my lines.

I have been checking and looking for any leaks, so far so good.

Also wich Airdog Pump would the manufacture recommend for our
application, since there are so many pumps.

I am sure my fuel system can handle a high volume pump compared
to the OEM fuel system and lines, so I ask if anyone has broke out
the wallet and let the MOTHS OUT for a AIRDOG pump?

And if anyone has an AIRDOG, How does it work!? :dunno

Thanks in advance!

Overkill from what I hear. But it would probably work. What pressure does it pump?

depends what model, tho i think 100gph is a we bit overkill

I run a 6.0 ford one on my cummins truck, its set around 10psi stock, ive got it shimmed to 32psi (its an airdog 1)

Airdog 2's are adjustable

Just get a stock 7.3 superduty(99-03) electric fuel pump. They power those engines to400+ hp so they should work fine on a idi

Nope not yet, but it will be running the Cummins, not an IDI. It is going to be installed this winter, along with a number of other projects, when I don't need the truck.

It is an Air Dog II with the adjustable regulator.

I think it is overkill for an IDI, and may even be some overkill for my Cummins, but it was basically a complete new kit for 1/2 the price of a new one, so I couldn't pass it up.

However there are more benefits other than feeding enough fuel, like better filtration and fuel preparation with no air.

Its like buying the largest possible cam for a Small block chevy, and putting it into a stock motor.

Can it be done, sure. Will it work, sure. Is it the right choice, nope.

We dont require that GPH or PSI. If you want to buy it, go ahead.

Most IDI owners own them as they are inexpensive, they dont want to spend a ton of money on a Airdog, when a stock lift pump, or a cheap electric pump works fine.

You ask for opinions, you get some, and then you slam them,.... Awesome,...

Not really a slam, just a little humor!

I have a redneck holley blue, that is really redneck, cause the relief valve was rusted shut, but the pump was new!
So I always disable the relief at the pump and run a bypass regulator.

But im tired of the noise and the air gnerator blue pump!
this is why an AIRDOG is making me stay awake at night

Alot of guys run them on OBS powerstrokes to do away with their mechanical fuel pump because the mechanical one cant keep up. They are less than half the cost of air dog or fass

I dont like to follow the path well traveled just cause everyone else did it already.

Maybe the pump is not a bad idea, but if it spits air into my truck engine like my blue pump does I would be just a little pissed and money/time/labor short of an AIRDOG?
