abs light

the abs light and brake light cam on the other day and when i shut the pickup off their was a humming sound coming from under the hood it was the abs pump or whatever that thing is on the drivers side fender next to the fues box can anyone tell me what may cause the problem?

I dunno what it is either other than its the main part of the ABS system. wheel speed sensors send a signal to it and it decides the brake to apply based on wheel rpm

I believe that you can check the codes by cycling the key switch from the off to on position three times and then leave it in the "ON" position and count the cycles of the check engine light on the 01 models (this is how I do it on my 95 model year). Just remember not to turn it over to the start position during the on off cycles.
