04 would have been a 11.5aam with the HO or 10.5aam with the SO...04.5 was the intro of the 325hp "600" 5.9l and they all got 11.5aam.I think 04 had different axle company. Or was it just the manual transmission that was different in 06

3.73 and 4.10 were both options as was the limited slip...and while the LSD didn't require LSD addirive, sometimes it was necessary to resolve chatter.
Keep thinking that...been there, done that. Put over 300k on mine...The factory AAM1150 'LSD' (I hate the term) is basically a tru-trac (torsen) traction device. There's no chatter in these that a friction modifier will solve.

Heh. There's a special case for everything... much like I leave the friction modifier out of the Jeep to make the trash-lok work better.
I used an ORU cover for a GM11.5AAM on my Dodge 11.5AAM...it didn't fit perfect, but it worked well for a lot of miles.iirc. the AAM 11.5 is the smarter cousin of the GM 14 bolt. the housing and guts may be different, but the cover should be the same.
don't quote me, I can be very wrong on this.
