Good advice and valid with ALL fittings...Make sure to crank it down tight and watch for oil/dirt sticking to that fitting.

That's the correct way. Can't use the OE fitting so we cut it off,weld on the new barb,slide the ferrel and hose over the new barb and crimp it. It's like new nowGood advice and valid with ALL fittings... Never heard of that...
