84 6.9 idi running rough/white smoke

my 84 6.9 recently had an air intrusion issue (loose fuel filter line) but thats taken care of. When i bleed the lines no air comes out, just clean fuel. theres an intermitent knock at idle, just randomly happens. ive noticed a substantial power loss and smokes white sometimes at idle, and always while revved. like i said no air, idk if thats symptoms of a bad ip?

or would that mean my lift pump isnt supplying the ip with enough fuel?

Is the white smoke stinky and smells like raw diesel fuel? Or does it smell like anti-freeeze? I believe a bad injector can cause a knock.

smells like raw diesel, its not running rough enough to be a head gasket cus once in a while it'll get a surge of power so very well could be an injector, anyone know the symptoms of a bad ip?

also would water in my fuel cause these issues?
