hey all i have the chance to buy a very nice rig that is a 1991 that originally came with a 6.2 but was replaced in 1999 with a complete drop in crate gm 6.5. this is still the all mechanical engine. it has 32,000 on new crate motor
my questions are
1. when did the better blocks come out?
2. what problems should i look for?
3. when warm how many pounds of oil pressure should it have at idle? The factory gauge shows 18-20 psi at idle then as soon as you touch the gas its up to 40-50 psi and stays there when your foots in the throttle at all, but then when you let off its back down to 18-20 psi. This thing runs and drives excellent. Are the factory gauges inaccurate?
4. with the banks kit it wont over boost it and harm things will it?
5. Can remote start be put on these older gm diesels and work correctly? its a 700r4/4l60 or 80e
Any thing i should look for thats a turn and run away from the deal type of thing?
