2006 Power Steering Leak

Good afternoon 6.0 Forum. I am usually down in the basement, but I was with a buddy towing a 5th wheel last weekend with an 06 F350 CC and his power steering made a little starving noise around a turn. It was a little low on fluid, and although he topped it off, it appears to be leaking slightly someplace other than the output to the steering arm. It is less than 2000 miles out of warranty and the dealer is telling him "no can warranty".

Anybody have any experience or thoughts on power steering box issues with the 06 models, or how to get Ford to warranty this leak?
