I was wondering if a 5 speed manual Transmission from a 97 1 ton dually would bolt up to my 1991 3/4 ton. mine's got an automatic in it and I'm fed up with the problems I've been having so I want to do a conversion. I don't remember what year they switched from the 12 to the 24 valve but in the pictures it looks like a 24 but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Lee

Thanks for the reply, and yea I should be able just to grab the whole truck, I just found out for sure that it is a 12 valve. He wants $ 750 for the tranny and everything that goes with it, does that sound reasonable?

I need all the conversion parts but it's a different body style so I don't think most of them will fit very well, I'm not THAT skilled of a mechanic. How bad would that be do you think?

that i can't help you on. I haven't done a conversion from gen2 to gen1.
irregardless, the trans alone is worth the $$$$ i'd get it before someone else does.
