The only thing I would do before putting the electric pump solve fuel system first. Don't want to mask the problem. You can get a a diesel pump 30 gph at 2.5 to 5 psi. They only cost around 50 bucks lifetime warranty.

So its definitely going to slow to crank, i'm sure it needs starter.

Another thing is the glow plug relay clicking a lot, I will replace glow plugs but what about the relay itself?

Anything else that could be bad stopping it from firing?

Thanks.

Make certain you use only Motorcraft or Beru ZD-9 glow plugs. Any other type will be a problem.

If the relay is clicking, it is functional.

Burned out glow plugs make it click faster. The more that are burned out, the faster it will click.

if it clicks as soon as you turn the ignition on, there is an issue.
I had bran new so called "updated" glow plugs, bran new.
and the controller just clicked and couldn't light them off.
put new ZD9's in and BAM, they worked.

Will be purchasing some ZD9 plugs soon, on the other hand I see some go for $60 and $30, who is a reliable seller on ebay? Or will it be better going to local parts store?

And thank you on the relay, all the help is very much appreciated.

Thanks again.

Local.
Thing with eBay is they'll say zd9/Motorcraft all day long, but they're only advertising as that, and you'll receive some chinesium junk.

Amazon has proven to be pretty good for me.

The even if it has bad glow plugs does it have a block warmer on it. If so plug it in then put the starter on it will help to fire off.

I don't like to cheat on starting but can alway use alittle bit of wd40 to help as well but use it sparingly.

Now when you do your glow plugs blow out the crap and dirt before you remove them. Number 2 kill of most diesel engines dirt in the engine.
Number 1 kill is TOO high on the EGT'S.

Also check the lead wires going to the glow plugs make sure they all get no less the 12v. I had a few on my corroded bad on the connecter.

I will say once you get everything worked out on it running great is an awesome truck to drive. It just seams like alot.

The glow plugs each have resistance. Resistance is what makes them hot. When the resistance goes to zero (no resistance) than the glow plug is bad. You will hear a clicking when you first turn on the key. If it is fast than the glow plugs are shot. Replace them with Motorcraft ZD-9 (Beru brand is Motorcraft) ONLY. Any other glow plug is garbage.
