AM WANTING !!!!!!!!!!!!

I know back in the day, that some authorized Cat dealers (I've heard that McCalister here in Indy was one) that had a "conversion kit" that you would bring in your truck, gasser of course as this was pre 83, and they would swap out the gasser with this 3208 kit...... This is the 4th or 5th I've seen/heard of. I would love to get a hold of one. I think in a pickup it wouldn't be to bad N/A.... Ive drive a 3208 in a single axle "State Truck" that was N/A with an Allison, it wouldn't win a race, but it did have some grunt...... we used it to plow snow......

Ha! Helped a guy back in CA do one of these. Fun project. Pull up tree stumps on the weekends for fun. Heaven help you at maintenance time or if you get any fuel system problems... $$$$$$$$$

it looks cool but unfortunately doesn't put out much more than a 6.9 idi. N/A 3208 were quite the ****, hell they were even a **** with a turbo. sure make lots of smoke when they are cold. so a great"rollin coal" candidate. LOL

I drove a late 70s GMC Brigadier (?) for a couple of months back in 2011 that had a NA 3208. It smoked like a train when it was cold and was slow.

they only had 1 oil control ring or compression ring or something like that. looked fine once they were warmed up. they were pretty cool looking in blue when ford put them in the C and Fseries back in the 70s as their own engine.
