Somehow I got a really wirey weed wrapped around my yoke a few weeks ago and I think it messed my seal up. Can't see anything from the outside, but in case it's a groove in the yoke, I'm wondering if I should just replace it. It has almost 250k on it.

Any specific brand to get... stay away from?

I think any brand of yoke would work fine. I'd stay name brand on the seal though. What year is your truck? I think all idi's had the short spline pinion and a long spine yoke won't work

It's the 94 in my sig. I thought 93 was the change over from short to long spline.

I thought it was 95 or 96, but did a search and 93 is correct.
I don't know if there's a early vs late, or if all 93 are long pinion.

Just get a speedi sleeve and new seal and you will be fine unless you want to drop $250-$300 on a long spline yoke, they are not cheap.

Signatures don't show up on the mobile app. I bought a 94 10.25 to build up and put in my 83 and it had a short spline pinion

Sounds like you were sold a rear with a mismarked year,or it was pulled from a '94 which had it's rear replaced with a 1st gen sterling at some point.
'85-'92 = 1st gen sterling.Short yoke.
'93-98 = 2nd gen sterling.Long yoke.

Pulled it myself. Door jam said aug 94. Could've been swapped before I guess.
Thanks for this. I've used these on cranks, but I didn't make the connection to yokes.

Holy bleep! $43 for a little sleeve.
I think I paid like 17$ on rockauto for mine

You pulling the diff on a 94 does not preclude that it may have been replaced before.....just sayin...94 should be long spline.
