    just wanted to say thanks to the OP for this thread and to those that contributed. i fixed my leak with a spare o-ring, which saved me the $165 i thought i would have to give to ford for a new filter header. not too mention, i feel a whole lot better driving my truck now that its not pouring...

    mad props to RON BUTTS' heim jnt writeup

    just wanted to say a BIG THANKS to Ron Butts for his writeup on the heim joint mod for the clutch push rod. i did it on my truck and what a huge change. now it actually shifts into and out of gears without throwing my shoulder out and the clutch is not painful anymore. if you haven't done it...

    so it was 2 red and 2 green, i just made two jumper wires and connected the like colors to each other and guess what?...it worked, my truck starts now!!! thanks again for the idea

    i was thinking it might be an issue, but i put a new one on and no change. i'll jump it though. it has 4 wires going to it...if i remember correctly, 2 are green and 2 are yellow. do you know which ones to jump? green to green, yellow to yellow? thanks for the help

    i've had my truck about 2 or 3 months and the clutch has always had to be pushed thru the floor to engage enough to start. it has the characteristic stiff shifting into 1st and reverse. recently i've had to actually pull my seat almost completely forward and push the clutch in with both feet...

    running great! got the rebuilt ip in town for $450 and put it on this morning. after bleeding the lines, it started on the first try!! runs like a champ. thanks for the help

    thanks for the info. i'll check the fss when i get home tomorrow. yea, mwfi has the ip for $382, much better than ford. i'll keep you all posted on my progress.

    so i replaced the fuel switching valve which fixed the fuel overflow problem, but it still won't start. i found good fuel flow to the ip, but none coming from it. i opened several ip to injector lines and there was absolutely no fuel flow. i'm taking that to mean the ip is the problem...

    i'm brand new to diesels, just got an 89 f250 extcab, 4x4, 5spd, 7.3l all stock with 236k on the clock. i put about 200 miles on it, then it started acting up. as i'm decelerating, at about 1500 rpms and just let off the accel., the truck started to shimmy pretty rough until i hit the accel...
