    Mechanical 6.5 turbo?

I thought they made one...err, did they? If so, what truck do I need to find at a junkyard, and is it a direct swap for a 6.2 NA?

    Cummins in a 2005 SD

Truck is an F-450 XLT wrecker, 6.0/TorqueShift, 2WD, 230,000 miles, currently dead due to someone putting morter mix in the fuel tank. Considering the truck is on its third engine already (first two warrantied) and, well, is a 6.doh...might be Cummins time. So, err...is the Ford-Cummins...

    6.2 overall health diagnosis

My wife has the Snail: Tatonka Products Bummer body on 1986 K-5 Blazer running gear (6.2/TH700). The IP and all 8 injectors have been replaced, engine never rebuilt & has about 210,000 miles on it. I have a GM truck manual, but it doesn't have anything on the 6.2 in it...so I'm asking here...

    Where to post...

I have questions about a Ford truck with a 6BT...what forum does THAT belong in?

    Early DT466 stuff

The engine is a 1979, in an S1700 wrecker. I think it's 215HP, runs ~1900RPM at 65, governed around 2600. It has tremendous miles on it (north of 600K since an IFO), and might have a leaking injector. Does anyone still sell injectors and an IP for this relic? Also, is 2600RPM too much for...

    Slow F-650

It's an '04, with a Cat ACERT C7 & a 5-speed slushpump (column shift, which is a little strange), rear air-ride, 25,900GVWR, Tommy Gate, & 12'6" high 26' box. No idea of axle ratio, but 2000RPM is ~62MPH, rear tires are 275/80R22.5's. My question is: how far back does Ford dial the power on...

    Roehl trucking

I just got an info mailing from them...and have to say, it sounds like a pretty good company. Anyone know firsthand whether it's a place I might want to work?

    Ouch...just, ouch

he 2001 F-550 rollback at work has been pulling pretty noticeably to the right lately. When I got to work for my shift (I drove the 1986 F-350, as usual), Chuck (Da Boss) collared me to drive the 550 to the shop for a much-needed alignment. When I got back, the 550 was parked, and he was looking...

    Plowing with my 79

OK, I'm almost ready: the plow is home. The truck is a 1979 F-350 *deep breath* 4x4 SuperCab XLT Ranger Camper Special. Engine is a Cummins 6BT from a 1994 Spartan/Grumman-Olsen newspaper van, 185HP. Trans is a T-18 (T-19?) 4-speed, NP205 T-case, with a Gear Vendors OD. Axles are Dana 60's...

    Old IH axle stuff

The truck: 1979 IH S1700 wrecker, DT466/5-speed, hydraulic drum brakes, no Jake. Wheels are old 10-lug 20" splits (front uses 5 lugs like a Chevy 3500HD) with 9.00R20 tube tires. The basic problem is the brakes: with something heavy on the hook, it, well, doesn't have any. Chuck has a line on...

    Block heater draw

The Snail (wife's 86 K-Blazer diesel) will need to be plugged in soon...anyone know offhand how many watts the block heater pulls? (Anyone know how to get a 6.2 Blazer to run 0-60 in less time than a Yugo running on 3 cylinders?)

    The wrecker from hell

Seen yesterday, 1984 RB-series Mack Econodyne (the one with the funky off-center cab) 10-wheeler, set up as a heavy haul semi wrecker! The driver said it started life as a trash truck. It has a rather-smoky Mack diesel with "not enough" power, a 5-speed with no reverse & a 2-speed auxiliary...

    Funky tire size

1979 F-350 SuperCab 4x4--has Reagan-era 12-16.5's on it. can someone translate that to a metric 16" size or a 16.5" size I can actually still get?
