I like that filter setup, went back to improved cdr setup on mine (better hose) and will get a new one soon. and we live right along one of the three rivers and it burned all the way from where it started in amador county line and jumped over to calaveras and burned around the areas of moke...- Lumberjack84

Lock button doesnt work any more??
Had almost the same problem when I got my '84, only the driver side would lock nothing else on either side. one day I was showing how they didn't work and I rocked the switch back and fourth really fast and what do you know? they started working and have been ever sinceLOL. don't know if it's...- Lumberjack84

update: how are all of you guys doing? I fixed more leaks, turbo flange had one and the cross over and up pipe had some more too. and added a bigger filter. it's a completely different truck now, even got whistle now and quieter exhuast, plugged gate line for now until I adjust the rod. love...- Lumberjack84

Finally got me 7.3

I fiddled with the timing today, results: middle line same smell, towards driver same smell and got hotter on the gauge and then back to advanced like I had it same smell. I wanna say like an oil smell but no oil consumption. I never really smelled it before I turned the fuel up after I started...- Lumberjack84

if you're talking about the pump timing its a hair advanced past the mark. and by not smelling like diesel i mean I can have a another idi or diesel drive past and it'll smell like a normal diesel. this smell isn't rotten or anything like that it's just a different smell. also followed what...- Lumberjack84

new to me 89 f350, got some questions
read the no power locks working, my '84s didn't work only the passenger side would lock but not unlock and the driver side didn't work at all but one day I moved the switch back and forth really fast and for some reason they started working again :D nice truck by the way- Lumberjack84

update for everyone. it went well, all done, fixed the exhaust leak on crossover: before I did I had exhuast in cab, 0psi when cruising and 6psi max to the floor (haven't touched pump as I was 2 1/2 or 3 flats give or take when N/A) and the performance wasn't much and wasn't burning most of the...- Lumberjack84

well Didn't look like it would work so I took the section that went to trans and put a bolt in a vac hose in the end to seal it off for now. just gotta finish up exhuast, get the intake tubes cleaned up and sealed and the threaded heater hose barb I'm using for attaching the cdr hose to. then...- Lumberjack84

yeah, i've always downshifted and upshifted autos basically all the time and especially when towing on grades. lot of people I know up where I live never heard of it and say its dumb. stepdads brakes on the 03 f150 were original at 69k cause we always downshift and don't use the breaks as much...- Lumberjack84

okay good cause I've ran straight before and it was loud only good part was downshifting and hearing basically a jake sound :D I thought the turbo would quiet it down from what i read. back to down shifting who else downshifts an auto descending grades and stopping? My manifolds do not have the hex on them. I looked at a 093 parts layout and it looked like they said 7/16-14. I'll by a tap as they could use it. the up pipe is basically all thats holding back besides the trans tube and exhuast. not gonna be too loud with a banks DP to 3.5 straight back dumped...- Lumberjack84

I got 7/16x16 nuts and a bolt and they didn't fit and they are course. and now i have to remove the studs :eek: just gonna do the two nut method I guess. it just it seemed to seal from the looks of it. alright, I'm gonna bring the whole pipe in as the one stud is attached to when the they took it off the other truck and didn't want to bother taking it out. and when I tried to get the snail on before installed everything it was hard to make it past the o ring and wouldn't go on. lube it up...- Lumberjack84

Yeah, figures with my luck. so used to using sae lately that I just grabbed it thinking it would work. trying to just bend the crossover slightly to make it fit but no luck so far. gonna scrounge around and try and find a bolt and some nuts for it too- Lumberjack84

just some things to button up like the crossover needs a nut on one side and a stud on one side that should take care of those leaks, bending the trans tube, get all the exhaust on hopefully and the air filter setup on. heard a faint whistle when i revved it up a little :D need to unbolt it a...- Lumberjack84
